Senior Solution Architect

The Solution Architect will provide technical Sales support and produce customer project requirements for customer sign-off and subsequently work with other Software and Controls HUB teams to ensure those requirements are understood and met.

The Solution Architect will carry out the duties described in this document while ensuring that they drive value, standardization, cost effectiveness and supportability of the HUB’s software and controls offering across Swisslog WDS Americas for all its customers by creating a world-class software and controls organization with value generating products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Be a subject matter expert of the current Swisslog Software Product Suite functionality and its operation
    • Understand what it would take to customize each functional area
  • Have a working knowledge of the current Swisslog Controls Product Suite
    • Provide technical Sales Support
    • Conduct Swisslog Software demonstrations
    • Lead Software and Controls presentations
    • Provide consultation
    • Attend Design Reviews
    • Attend Risk Reviews
    • Provide Software and Controls hours estimates
    • Provide Software and Controls costings
  • Lead Requirements Gathering Workshops with customer
  • Produce Functional Specifications
  • Produce Host Interface Specifications
  • Produce and maintain material used for Sales support and requirements gathering
  • Provide requirement management support to other Software and Controls HUB teams

Application Requirements

Essential
  • Degree in engineering and/or computer science
  • Have working knowledge of the Warehouse and Distribution business sector
  • Have at least five years experience in providing Software and/or Controls solutions
  • Have working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Have working knowledge of Material Flow Control Systems
Desirable
  • Have working knowledge of PLC controls and control logic
  • Have experience in defining, procuring, installing and maintaining IT Hardware, Controls Hardware and their supporting infrastructure
