Swisslog Logistic, Inc., Warehouse & Distribution Solutions, provider of integrated logistics solutions (Warehouse Management Systems) is looking for a dedicated and innovative person to strengthen its Software Implementation team.

• The Software Engineer IV is a senior-level position performing software development work on applications primarily using Java/JEE, EJB, JPA and JSF, frontend and backend solutions, OO-Design, JAVA architectures and SQL Server database programming knowledge (SQL).
• Works in small team sizes (4-6) on projects which run from 9-18 months in duration.
• A Senior Software Engineer will already have a solid understanding of the domain knowledge and will contribute to design decisions of complex systems.
• A Senior Software Engineer is expected to be self-starter who can learn on their own and take on more complex software tasks at the functional level with no supervision.
• Expected to take on tasks with specific and limited scope and follow them through to completion.
• A Senior Software Engineer will participate in the reviews and development of functional specification documentation needed for projects.
• A Senior Software Engineer will provide mentoring for junior engineers

This is a Hybrid role that will be based out of one of our three offices: Atlanta, Georgia, Newport News, Virginia, or Mason, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software development work on applications
  • Participate in requirements gathering, system analysis
  • Create design specifications
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Provide required support to post-development phases of projects, such as acceptance testing, integration, and system commissioning.
  • Participate in production support efforts; may require providing occasional after hours support
  • Liaise with members of other teams both internal and external to Swisslog
  • Provide technical leadership to team members

Application Requirements

  • BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable work experience / education.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Software Engineering or similar role.
  • Ability to provide documentation that you are eligible to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship.
  • Substantial experience with application development in Java, C++ or Similar Language.
  • Advanced understanding of all phases of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with Java/J2EE application server environments such as WebLogic, Wildfly, etc. including application server administration.
  • Advanced understanding of web development
  • Advanced relational database design and programming knowledge
    • RDBMS concepts
    • JDBC and SQL
  • Experience in developing and testing software in accordance with design requirements
  • May require travel
