Responsibilities
- Provide Mechanical Installation Supervision knowledge within Site Service Group
- Develop Mechanical Installation Standards.
- Develop and foster Mechanical Subcontractor relationships.
- Manage Mechanical Installation Subcontractor performance.
- Installation Quality Standards and Check List
- Minimize Installation OIL list prior to commissioning and Eliminate OIL list to zero by PA
- Develop Installation Drawing Standards that will increase Installation efficiency, supervisor time and eliminate or reduce questions/uncertainty
- Develop better way of managing and tracking Mechanical Equipment Inventory on-site
- Support Installation Estimating:
- Development and refinement of Mechanical Installation Estimating Process and Tools
- Develop Mechanical Installation labor / effort Matrix.
- Train Site Managers on Installation Standards, Progress Tracking and Quality Measure of work performed by Subcontractors.
- Ensure smooth and complete Engineering to Installation Subcontractor turnover.
- Coordinate with SM and PM to ensure site prepare/readiness.
- Coordinate Installation start up with Subcontractors and set expectations at mobilization at site.
- Work with Subcontractor during on-site start up to ensure Subcontractors are starting off properly.
- Coordinate regular rounds of site visits to ensure quality of installation and schedule are maintained and issues are quickly resolved before they become a problem.
- Coordinate with SM toe ensure Subcontractors are maintaining schedule and quality.
- SM’s go to for any Mechanical Installation questions from subcontractors.
- Carry out all duties as mentioned in this Job Description within the organizational structure defined in the applicable organization charts, including management of responsibilities for leadership, realization, pro-active cooperation, and information as defined in the Quality Handbook and the responsibilities matrix of the Process Handbook.
- Represent the interests of Swisslog in dealing with the project client, the client’s consultants, the authorities and Swisslog’s subcontractors.
- To function as a key player within a project team to deliver the system, within budget to the required specifications and project timing.
- Support analyzing offers from suppliers in terms of design, price, performance, maintainability, availability, safety, and reliability.
- Support development of Internal Mechanical Quoting/Estimating Process
- Provide assistance to other areas of the department as directed by the Head of Department.
- Open and maintain good relations with clients and sub-contractors, communicating at all levels.
- Be aware of constraints outside of own immediate area of responsibility, and to co-operate with others to achieve the overall objectives of the department.

- Supporting Selection of Subcontractors for specific projects.
- Evaluating Installation Subcontractors
- Developing Subcontractors for AS and IS projects.
- Transfer of Mechanical Installation and Quality knowledge from EMEA to North America.
- Developing Mechanical Installation training program for NA internal Installer, subcontractors and Site Manager.
- Evaluation of Site Install Quality.
- Coordination with Global Installation Teams on new Installation Technics, Standards, and new technology.
Application Requirements
Requirements
- General Contractor License in least 1 state in USA.
- 10 years industrial experience as a Mechanical Installation Supervisor.
- 3-5 years as the Manager of Mechanical Installation Manager or equivalent.
- 15 years in project execution of Material Handling.
- Sound application knowledge of industrial material handling and warehouse systems (ASRS, AGVs, conveyors, monorail, etc.).
- Some knowledge of contract law and labor requirements of local jurisdiction.
- Some knowledge of building construction and regulations
- Effective utilization of written and verbal communications skills.
- Possess excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills.
- Some travel to sites within NA and abroad may be required
