Responsibilities
- Drive the organization’s global data strategy, aligning it with business goals and fostering innovation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and design scalable data architecture
- Assess and evaluate data solutions for performance, cost, and security while exploring alternatives
- Establish data governance policies and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
- Facilitate smooth data migration by developing strategies and mapping processes in collaboration with business units
- Create a comprehensive data strategy that defines data management, retention, and classification
- Take ownership of the data infrastructure, ensuring its maintenance, optimization, and security
- Support business units by providing guidance on data access, querying, and analysis
- Serve as the primary contact for data-related inquiries and facilitate efficient data utilization
Application Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in setting a data strategy from the ground level and productizing or monetizing data-driven applications or components
- Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes, and data warehousing
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), MS Azure, or Goggle Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive business value from data and enable the business to achieve new outcomes
- Strong proficiency in English; German is a plus
- Regular presence in our Germany/Dortmund office for at least 3 days per week, but also willingness to occasionally travel to other Swisslog offices
