The Business Analyst will provide technical Sales support and produce customer project requirements for customer sign-off and subsequently work with other Software and Controls HUB teams to ensure those requirements are understood and met.
The Business Analyst will carry out the duties described in this document while ensuring that they drive value, standardization, cost effectiveness and supportability of the HUB’s software and controls offering across Swisslog WDS Americas for all it’s customers by creating a world-class software and controls organization with value generating products and services.

Responsibilities
Core Tasks
- Be a subject matter expert in the usage and content of The Library in updating and creating requirements for Sales Proposals and Functional Specifications
- Have a working knowledge of the current Swisslog Software Product Suite functionality and it’s operation
- Provide technical Sales Support
- Conduct Swisslog Software demonstrations
- Lead Software and Controls presentations
- Provide Software and Controls hours estimates
- Provide Software and Controls costings
- Participate in Requirements Gathering Workshops with customer
- Produce Software and/or Controls Sales Proposals
- Produce Functional Specifications
- Assist in producing Host Interface Specifications
- Produce and maintain material used for Sales support and requirements gathering
- Deliver Sales Proposals and Functional Specifications for every assigned HUB project which are:
- compliant with the Swisslog process landscape
- within budget
- on schedule
- of high quality
- clear, concise and complete
- Ensure that all presentations delivered to meetings attended with our customers meet or exceed customer expectations and are conducted in a consistent manner
- Have knowledge of the operation and functionality of the Swisslog Software and Controls Product Suite
- Keep up to date with the latest release of Swisslog Software and Cotrols products
- Have working knowledge of the Swisslog Process Landscape
- Have working knowledge of the effort and work involved in delivering projects of varying sizes and complexity for both Swisslog and our customer
- Have working knowledge of the material available for conducting Sales Support Presentations and Requirements Gathering Workshops
- Attend Library Key User meetings when/if requested to do so
- Have an understanding of and be prepared to consult/present on the following subjects:
- Project execution tools
- The Library, Microsoft Project, Agile, Resource Planning etc.
- IT Hardware and infrastructure
- PLC/Controls Hardware and infrastructure
- Swisslog Material Handling Equipment capability
- Be accountable and deliver on internal and external customer commitments
- Understand and accurately record customer requirements under the instruction of a Solution Architect
- Build a network of good working relationships with peers, internal customer and external customers
- Strive to deliver the best solutions to our customers, minimizing cost, risk and complexity
- Promote the Software and Controls HUB brand inside and outside of Swisslog by the the way you conduct and present yourself to them
- Make well-informed, effective and timely decisions with due diligence and consideration of the risks involved
- Formulate obectives, plans and priorities for themselves taking into consideration team, department, organizational and customer needs
- Be able to steer our customers to the best solutions for their problems based on information given during Sales Support and Requirements Gathering activities
Application Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering and/or computer science
- Have working knowledge of the Warehouse and Distribution business sector
- Have working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
- Have working knowledge and experience in requirements gathering for producing Sales Proposals, Change Orders ad/or Functional Specifications
- Other software/controls product SME certification
- Have working knowledge of PLC controls and control logic
- Have working knowledge of Material Flow Control Systems
- Have previously worked in the role of a Solution Architect and/or Business Analyst
- Have experience in defining, procuring, installing and maintaining IT Hardware, Controls Hardware and their supporting infrastructure
