Bleker, Germany: AutoStore empowered by Swisslog reduces footprint by 70%
With around 85,000 parts always in stock and ready to ship, Bleker is one of Germany’s most reliable and efficient original parts suppliers. Serving 16 renowned brands—including Citroën, Peugeot, Opel, and Renault—the company has built a reputation for nationwide delivery and outstanding service.
Game-changing automation
To meet growing demand, Bleker doubled its logistics centre in Borken to 15,000 m² in 2018, and expanded again in 2022 to 30,000 m², accommodating up to 85,000 car parts and 60,000 tires. In 2023, the company took a major step by replacing its conventional shelving with a compact, modular system powered by Swisslog.
Footprint reduced by 70%
Swisslog’s AutoStore-solution had a transformative impact on Bleker’s operations. Occupying just 615 m², the new system holds 20,800 bins across 16 levels and allows seamless expansion. This newfound efficiency enabled smarter use of the warehouse for other priorities, reflecting a shift toward working smarter, not harder.
At the same time, labour dependency was reduced from 20 employees to just five. Productivity also soared, with the system achieving 236 bin presentations per hour for picking and 102 per hour for goods-in. The modular system is expandable and can be easily adapted to future requirements.
