High-density storage and streamlined order picking

In 2018, the Seon-based Bio Partner Schweiz AG acquired another organic food specialist, Somona GmbH from Dulliken. The companies’ product ranges were merged, but those goods remained stocked and picked across three warehouses in Seon, Dulliken and Niederlenz. Streamlining logistics in Seon became a top priority, and AutoStore was the ideal solution to meet Bio Partner’s needs: the system provides excellent storage consolidation and delivers quick, accurate order picking.

On-demand flexibility with the AutoStore system

The AutoStore system at Bio Partner consists of 25,000 bins for the organic wholesaler's dry goods, which include mueslis, pasta, cereal products and pulses. Each bin can hold up to eight different items, and goods are stored and retrieved by 44 AutoStore robots that handle up to 900 bins per hour. In its current form, the AutoStore cube is connected to three conveyor ports for goods receiving and a further six carousel ports in the picking zone. However, if Bio Partner’s needs change in the future, the entire system is highly flexible and can be expanded at any time.

Integrated hardware and software delivers near-zero error rate
