ICA, Sweden: Fast and efficient retrofit

ICA is Sweden’s largest grocery retailer with 2,300 stores. Efficient logistics and warehouse operations are a priority. Swisslog replaced ageing stacker cranes in the automated high-bay warehouse to an exacting timescale that minimised disruption.

Seven week timeline

The challenge, which Swisslog met, was to replace old cranes and put the new cranes into operation in just seven weeks without affecting the delivery service to stores.

Increased productivity and efficiency

Effective logistics and warehouse operations enable ICA to maintain strong growth, profitability and sustainability. New Vectura stacker cranes will increase productivity and efficiency in the automated high-bay warehouse when a new track system is added.
