The Data Analyst provides strategic and tactical support to the organization by analyzing and interpreting the data to provide creative solutions. Generates graphs, charts, and other results to accurately describe customer supplied data files as required for material handling consulting activities. Work directly with clients and project leaders to identify analytical requirements. Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

  • Continually develops his/her supply chain expertise (e.g. process mapping, inventory management, process re-engineering, etc.

  • Effectively analyses large amounts of data in order to identify customer specific patterns which build the foundation/driver of the ultimate solution developed
Technical / commercial knowledge
  • Coding accurately variables from original information or data and completing statistical analyses as required.
  • Preparing and making presentations, monitoring and maintaining the quality nature of database systems.
  • Analyzing data with standard statistical methods, interpreting the results, and providing written summary of data analyses.
Result orientation
  • Create business intelligence tools or systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets, or outputs.
  • Identify and analyze industry or geographic trends with business strategy implications.
  • Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users.
Team work
  • Ensure effective hand over of information, documents, cost structure, timelines upon finalization of study or contact to project realization and provide support during the remaining life cycle of the project as needed
  • Maintain close network with other internal departments (Project Realization, SW and Customer Support)
Communication
  • Prepare and hold professional presentations using PowerPoint

Application Requirements

Essential:
  • Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of an organization
  • Exceptional MS Excel and MS Access Skills
  • Experience developing business case scenarios and models
  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies and techniques
  • Business awareness and numerical ability
  • Must possess solid communication skills
  • Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality
  • Must value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment.
  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative assessments of data.
Desired:

  • Experience managing external vendors
  • Experience developing and executing simulations
  • Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products.
  • Experience with ExtendSim, Arena, AutoMod or similar simulation packages.
  • Good knowledge of Visual Basic in Access and Excel
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data required.
  • Experience with operational research
